Tag Category: Setting

Description:

'Setting' tags are used to designate spaces, places, and settings in game worlds or extended universes. This category is broad enough so that any reference or medieval trope which meets any category of this type will have an appropriate 'Setting' tag. In medieval literature, this will be places where direct narrative action takes place, or which are described in the text in any significant capacity relevant to the story (a king travels through a land and encounters someone important; the protagonist originates in a land but leaves to embark on a journey, etc.). In video games, the ludic equivalent applies, i.e., places with a 'Setting' tag will be either navigable in the gameplay as levels, areas, zones, etc., or places alluded to in a game's lore which have some relevance to the aims of this database.
